Arts Excentrix
Arts Excentrix began life as Dance Excentrix in a major Fringe production in 1988, held in the Crafers Quarry. Our then Director was Elizabeth Cameron Dalman the founder of Australian Dance Theatre. The work presented in this founding season was Scangiarusca (Changing Bark), a homage to those who suffered in the Ash Wednesday Bushfires.
Several founding members, including past Artistic Directors Anni Luur Fox & Andrew McNicol and current Directors Lynn Elzinga-Henry & Suzi Windram remain as core members.
Throughout the intervening years the group has always adhered to it's philosophy of working with the community and for the community by promoting and facilitating workshops for disability, life long learning, combining dance for health, fitness and mental wellbeing as well as promoting community connectedness.
The name change to Arts Excentrix came about with the realization that our membership embraced not simply Dance but equally Music and the Visual Arts.
Over the years we have explored many forms of Events, Exhibitions and Workshops with a strong focus on providing the opportunity for our community (The Adelaide Hills, Mt Barker and Fleurieu regions) to have access to high quality arts experiences both as audience and as participants in arts learning.
