Burnside Village

Based at Burnside Village Shopping Centre, sculpture artists from all over Australia were invited to submit their individual pieces to be displayed and judged. Arts Excentrix were selected to be included in the 18 top finalists.

'Road To The Stringy Bark Forest' is based on the concept of way markers erected to signpost the route used by overlanders travelling from the eastern states to Adelaide, dating back to 1844. This route was also used to supply eastern states with imports from Adelaide. Waymarkers are an expression of the spirit of place.

 

Materials: Stainless steel, fused glass with metal inclusions and a limestone plinth.
